
Health and cleanliness
We follow strict guidelines on cleaning processes. Our properties are cleaned after each guest stay by professional cleaning contractors that follow a strict industry-standard 5-step cleaning process. Rest assured, our properties are spotless when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness.
Permits and Licensing
Depending on the province our property is operating in, we always display a valid business license in our rental units visible for all guests
Safety
We always care about the safety of our guests. Here are a few simple items we provide in all our properties to give our guests peace of mind when staying with us.
Emergency contact information
We include a contact list with the following phone numbers:
- Local emergency numbers
- The number for the nearest hospital
- Our primary property manager's number
- A number for a backup contact (in case guests can’t reach us)
Medical supplies
We keep a first aid kit in all our properties and instruction on where it is. We check it regularly so can be reassured supplies are always in stock.
Fire prevention
For properties with gas appliances, we always ensure we have a working carbon monoxide detector. There are also fire extinguishers available in the rare case of an incident.
Exits
We also ensure we have a clearly marked fire escape route in the event of an evacuation.
Hazard prevention
We always do our best to keep our places free of hazards. We inspect all properties to identify any areas where guests might trip or fall and indicate that and we also look for and fix any exposed wires or loose fixtures.
Child safety
Some of our guests travel with young family members. If there are things in the properties that may be potentially hazardous to young children we indicate this in our listings.
Climate control
We always ensure:
- Your property is properly ventilated
- To provide instructions on how to safely use the heater and air conditioning
- To check that the thermostat is working correctly and make sure that guests know where to find it
- Service the climate control appliances regularly
Occupancy limits
We establish safe occupancy limits. This number will vary from property to property.
Courtesy
We do our best in building a trustworthy community. In this section, we highlight common courtesy so our guests understand best practices for interacting with the community. Our goal is to help create a great experience for everyone.
Building rules
Properties within buildings may have rules on common spaces or shared amenities. We always inform our guests of these rules in our property guides.
House rules
We include any property rules in the "Additional notes" section of our listing details. Guests usually appreciate it when we share our expectations with them upfront.
Noise
Guests book through us for lots of reasons. We let our guests know how noise impacts neighbors early on for a smoother experience. We also prohibit parties in certain properties and additional unregistered guests for safety around the community. If you plan on having visitors or any celebrations, please let our hosts know so we can plan in advance. Additionally, for both our guests and our property owners we employ noise monitoring systems in some of our properties to avoid parties, damage, and complaints from neighbors. If our software notices excess noise or congestion on the property, it will notify us. It will also alert us when a fire alarm goes off. We always disclose the hardware to the guest prior to booking.
Parking
Many of our properties have parking available to guests. We will let you know of any parking information regarding your stay (ie: Assigned parking spaces, directions and hours)
Pets
In some of our properties, we do allow guests to bring their pets. We do however require all guests with pets to follow a few guidelines which can be outlined for specific properties in the property guide.
Privacy
We always respect our guests' privacy. We follow strict rules and regulations on prohibiting the use of security cameras or recording devices that are in or that observe private spaces like bedrooms, bathrooms, or sleeping areas. We indicate the presence of all security cameras or other recording devices in or around a listing, even if they're not turned on or hooked up. These can include security cameras outside outside entryway doors.
Smoking
Smoking is never permitted inside any of our properties. Smoking is permitted outside only and within the rules of the building or property as specified in the property guide. Please be respectful to our community and use the ashtrays in designated areas.
